Members and Research Fellows act solely in their individual and independent capacities. Any statements, publications, opinions, representations, actions, or activities undertaken by Members or Research Fellows are their own and do not represent the views, positions, approval, or endorsement of the IPI unless expressly authorised in writing by the IPI.
The IPI does not supervise, verify, monitor, or accept responsibility for the professional, scientific, financial, legal, commercial, or personal activities of Members or Research Fellows.
Members and Research Fellows agree to indemnify and hold harmless the IPI, its directors, officers, volunteers, representatives, and affiliates against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses, including legal expenses, arising directly or indirectly from their use of IPI membership, affiliation, logo, name, publications, communications, or representations.
Members and Research Fellows are required to use the IPI Google Group and the IPI Blog respectfully and legally. IPI reserves the right to remove any content that is illegal, offensive, denigrating or discriminatory in any shape or form, to any groups of people, any nationalities, races or genders.
Membership of members and research fellows in breach of these regulations, will be revoked without notice.
Membership, Fellowship, affiliation, or participation in the Information Physics Institute (“IPI”) does not create any employment, partnership, joint venture, agency, representative, fiduciary, contractual, or employer–employee relationship between the IPI and any Member, Research Fellow, contributor, or affiliate.
No Member or Research Fellow has authority to act on behalf of, legally bind, represent, speak for, or otherwise assume obligations in the name of the IPI unless expressly authorised in writing by the IPI.
The use of an IPI affiliation, title, membership designation, or logo shall not be interpreted as evidence of employment, official representation, accreditation, endorsement, certification, or institutional authority.
The views, opinions, conclusions, statements, publications, communications, research outputs, and activities of Members, Research Fellows, contributors, or affiliates are solely their own and do not necessarily reflect the views, policies, positions, scientific opinions, or endorsements of the Information Physics Institute (“IPI”).
The IPI does not review, verify, approve, supervise, or guarantee the accuracy, legality, reliability, scientific validity, or appropriateness of statements or materials produced by Members or Research Fellows unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.
No person may represent that the IPI has endorsed, approved, certified, validated, or accepted any personal opinion, scientific claim, publication, product, service, commercial activity, or public statement without prior written authorisation from the IPI.
Members may use the affiliation:

solely in connection with legitimate academic, scientific, scholarly, educational, and research-related activities, including but not limited to journal articles, conference papers, books, academic presentations, research profiles, institutional acknowledgements, ORCID records, ROR-linked metadata, and other scholarly communications.
The affiliation may not be used for personal identification, residential purposes, business registration, commercial trading, financial applications, credit applications, employment verification, immigration matters, legal service of process, or any purpose that could reasonably create the impression that the Information Physics Institute (“IPI”) has endorsed, verified, guaranteed, supervised, or assumed responsibility for the Member’s activities, statements, qualifications, financial standing, or legal obligations.
The designation “Information Physics Institute, Gosport, Hampshire, United Kingdom” and the associated affiliation reference, including the website address www.informationphysicsinstitute.org, are provided solely for the purpose of identifying a Member’s professional and scientific association with the Information Physics Institute (“IPI”) in connection with academic, scientific, scholarly, educational, and research-related activities and publications.
Membership of the IPI does not constitute employment, partnership, agency, accreditation, endorsement, certification, sponsorship, residency, domicile, or business association with the IPI or its directors, officers, representatives, or affiliates. The IPI affiliation address is not a personal, residential, postal, legal, trading, financial, or business address of any Member and must not be represented or used as such.
Members shall not use the IPI affiliation in connection with applications for credit, loans, banking facilities, financial services, immigration matters, employment verification, consumer transactions, commercial trading, legal registrations, governmental filings, or any activity that could reasonably imply institutional responsibility, guarantee, verification, or endorsement by the IPI.
The IPI does not review, supervise, verify, endorse, or assume responsibility for any statement, representation, publication, application, transaction, communication, or conduct of any Member using the affiliation. All use of the affiliation by Members is entirely at their own risk and responsibility.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the IPI and its directors, officers, representatives, volunteers, and affiliates expressly disclaim all liability for any loss, damage, claim, cost, dispute, regulatory action, litigation, or third-party reliance arising directly or indirectly from a Member’s use or misuse of the IPI affiliation. Members agree to indemnify and hold harmless the IPI and its directors, officers, representatives, and affiliates against any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from the Member’s use of the affiliation or any representation made by the Member in connection with it.
The IPI reserves the absolute right to revoke or restrict a Member’s permission to use the affiliation at any time, without notice, where the IPI considers such use inappropriate, misleading, unlawful, unethical, or potentially damaging to the reputation or legal interests of the Institute.
The Information Physics Institute is maintained as a scholarly and research affiliation entity, including for Research Organization Registry (ROR) and related academic indexing, attribution, citation, and metadata purposes. The existence or use of the IPI affiliation within ROR systems, scholarly databases, publisher metadata, author profiles, or academic indexing services shall not be interpreted as creating any legal, financial, employment, residential, regulatory, supervisory, or fiduciary relationship between the IPI and any Member.
Where possible, images on the IPI sites are credited to their source and copyright owners on the relevant page.
The official IPI logo may be used solely for legitimate academic, scholarly, educational, collaborative, or informational purposes connected with the Information Physics Institute.
The logo may not be modified except for proportional resizing. The logo may not be used in any manner that implies endorsement, certification, partnership, employment, agency, financial approval, legal authority, or official representation by the IPI where no such relationship exists.
The IPI reserves the right to require removal of the logo or revoke permission for its use at any time and without notice.
Members, Research Fellows, contributors, and users of the IPI affiliation agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Information Physics Institute (“IPI”), its directors, officers, volunteers, representatives, affiliates, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, actions, proceedings, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or demands, including reasonable legal fees and expenses, arising directly or indirectly from:
(a) their use or misuse of IPI membership, affiliation, name, logo, website, publications, or services;
(b) any statements, representations, publications, communications, or activities undertaken by them;
(c) any breach of these Terms and Conditions; or
(d) any unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, negligent, defamatory, discriminatory, or unauthorised conduct associated with their activities or use of the IPI affiliation.
This indemnity shall survive termination, suspension, or revocation of membership or affiliation with the IPI.

Any scientific data provided by the IPI is in good faith, but makes no warranty, express or implied, nor assumes any legal liability or responsibility for any purpose for which the data are used.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
